The Workstations category from JSL – Material Eléctrico brings together floor boxes, floor towers, IZI Boxline distribution boxes, and PowerTower charging stations — all designed to deliver power, data, and USB to the end user in a safe, organized, and aesthetically integrated manner. These solutions are 100% compatible with 45×45 (Mosaic-type) switchgear, halogen-free, and manufactured in Portugal according to European standards EN 60670-1, EN 50085-1, and EN 50085-2-2.

Why Workstation Electrification Is Critical

In open-space offices, laboratories, classrooms, exhibition stands, hospitals, and commercial areas, the electrical and telecommunications infrastructure has evolved from a mere construction detail to a decisive factor for productivity, safety, and flexibility. Loose cables on the floor are the leading cause of falls in professional environments; improvised connections multiply the risk of short circuits and hinder any future space reconfiguration. The solution lies in bringing electrical sockets, network connectors (RJ45), and USB ports directly to the point of use — desk, workstation island, workbench, wall, or pillar — through products designed to integrate with the standard modular switchgear on the market.

With this challenge in mind, JSL has developed a dedicated range covering the four most common installation types: flush-mounting in the floor, elevating from the floor, fixing to the wall or workbench, and distributing mobile power across the work surface.

The Four Families of Workstation Solutions

Floor Boxes for Raised Access Floors and Concrete

The JSL Floor Boxes for 45×45 switchgear are the benchmark for open-space offices, meeting rooms, and auditoriums — locations where desks are set away from the walls and cables must reach through the floor. Available in the 745-4 (4-module) and 745-8 (8-module) models, with or without galvanized steel plate, they are manufactured from Nylon 6 with a protection rating of IP4x and IK09, and support vertical loads up to 750 N on a small surface and 5000 N on a large surface. They can be installed directly in raised access floors or, with the CRF748 concrete form and EPS4M/EPS8M polystyrene blocks, in screed layers exceeding 83 mm. The result: invisible power and data connections, flush with the floor surface and ready to withstand continuous foot traffic.

Floor Towers for Vertical Distribution

When it is necessary to bring power from the floor up to desk height — or to supply an island of workstations with multiple users — the JSL Floor Towers for 45×45 switchgear are the cleanest and most flexible solution. Robust structures with modern lines, they directly accept 45×45 modules and connect to the floor via floor trunking, keeping all cabling hidden and enabling quick reconfigurations in dynamic environments.

IZI Boxline — Modular Distribution Boxes for Rehabilitation

The IZI Boxline range is JSL’s answer for electrical rehabilitation in offices, homes, hospitals, garages, and commercial establishments — where it is not always feasible to open walls or redo cable chases. Available in surface-mount versions (CS245, CS445, CS645) and flush-mount versions (CE245, CE445, CE645), for 2, 4, or 6 × 45×45 modules respectively, it stands out for:

• Screw-free click-in mounting system — fast device installation, with optional screw reinforcement.
• Included DIN rail — allows the installation of circuit breakers, RCDs, and other protection devices inside the box itself, turning the workstation into a local mini-panel.
• Vertical and horizontal modularity — boxes can be grouped using the PIS-L coupling piece, expanding capacity as needs evolve.
• Full compatibility — accepts Mosaic 45×45 / 45×90 switchgear and NEMA sockets, 20×10, 30×10, 25×17, 40×17, 25×25, 40×25 mini-trunking and VD20 conduit, and JS20/JS25 corrugated conduit in the flush-mount version.
• Technical materials — halogen-free thermoplastic with high UV protection, operating range between -5 °C and +90 °C, available in white or yellow.

PowerTower — USB Charging Station and Sockets

The PowerTower is a freestanding solution — a compact “power tower” of approximately 11 cm, in white ABS, with 3 Schuko sockets and 2 fast-charge USB ports (5 V, 2.1 A per port) that can power up to 5 devices simultaneously. It elegantly replaces traditional extension cords in office, reception, meeting room, or domestic environments. Child-safe sockets, 1.5 m power cable, and 110–240 V compatible voltage.

Universal Compatibility: Mosaic 45×45 Standard

All JSL workstation solutions are based on the 45×45 (Mosaic-type) modular format, a market standard adopted by the leading European manufacturers. This choice gives installers and designers total freedom of configuration — Schuko sockets, RJ45 Cat.5e/Cat.6 connectors, USB modules, HDMI, audio, blanks, and protection devices can be combined in the same box, tailored to the end-client’s usage profile, and replaced individually without disturbing the rest of the installation. Our 45×45 Switchgear range is fully designed to fit into any box, tower, or IZI Boxline in this category.

Our systems are present in corporate office projects, coworking spaces, university classrooms and laboratories, hospitals and clinics, retail outlets and shopping centers, hotels, libraries, garages, workshops, and rehabilitated homes. They are especially recommended for electrical rehabilitation projects — where the flush-mount IZI Boxline eliminates the need for significant demolition — and in new buildings with raised access floors, where floor boxes and floor towers provide the level of aesthetic discretion demanded by contemporary architecture.
